Strip Tillage (video)

Strip tilled fields have cleaner seedbeds in the spring for quicker, more even emergence. This operation also breaks up any hardpans or compaction zones and allows for fertilizer to be placed below the root zone for more efficient crop utilization during the growing season.

• One of our 16R30 machines can variably apply two dry fertilizer or cover seed products within the strip as well as a surface application between the strip! This machine is extremely modular and allows us to add operations to each application as needed.

Planting

As agronomic practices in cropping systems change and focus more on soil biological health looking at how we can use relay crops is a growing trend. In an effort to help our customers realize the benefit of this system before making an investment in the equipment we have set up a drill to implement this practice.

This drill is a 10″ that were able to plug off every 30″ to leave a strip for the soybeans to be seeded into the following spring. Relay cropping allows numerous benefits including year-round ground cover, improved weed control, and dual cash crops in one season. The disease cycle can also be interrupted due to the variation in types of crops being grown.

Harvesting

Once the crop has matured and ready for harvest, we have the equipment to help you get your crop to in-field storage, to the local market, or to remote destinations, as needed.
